Baking & Dinner Tonight!

This morning, I woke up and baked some chocolate biscuits and 'gei neng go' (in Hokkien) for my girl's morning tea in sunday school. =)

The kids under 3 years old are practising the 'BIBLE' song for coming christmas. All mums were there teaching their kids the actions and the songs.

After the Sunday School, we dropped by at Doris's place in Ellerslie to pass to her some baby stuffs. She gave us some orange chiffon cake. I let Val tried some and she loved it!!!! She keeps saying: more please, mummy. I will need to contact Doris for the recipe. =P

I'm into this blog thing......hehehe......was taking the photo of our dinner tonight. Benedict was asking: what are you doing????? I told him I'm going to show the whole wide world our dinner tonight. Well, actually was very lazy doing cooking today. That's why ended up cooking this 'ew fan' [oily rice] using the slow cooker. =P

Toys

We have joined the membership in Toys Library Manukau. It's a non-profit organisation. We've paid NZD56 per year and eligible to borrow 5 toys each time. We personally think it's a good way to let her learn about sharing, that she can not always get the toys she wants and demand to buy this and that when we go out. We still work on the 'sharing' part, but she has never taken any toys in the mall and refused to put them back.

Besides, she gets to play with all sorts of toys and for us, we save storage and $$ as the toys are so expensive!!!! She is always very looking forward to visit the library.

Today, due to the time constraint, Benedict has to go alone. Val was so happy when he's back, especially he came back with Thomas The Train. She took the trains and hide them in the other Fisher Price's toys, walked around the toy pretending she lost the toys. Then, she opened the drawer and said: Oh~~~Thomas....

Benedict, then, brought her to a primary school's Gala. She went with her friend, Adela and family. When they came home, I locked the door and asked for magic word and she said: Ai Ni, mama.....ahhaha....cheeky little thing......=)

I made her to go for a bath....from the photo, you can see how much she enjoyed her bath....normally till we pour the water down from her head......she will screamed like we are abusing her. Won't be surprise to get a visit from the cops one day.

NZ has passed the smacking bill. Now, we are not allowed to smack our children. I've read the newspapers one day, the neighbour rang the cops re: screaming kids etc....and the cops turned up and it's just because the kids are having their tantrums!!!

Art Works

These are Valerie's art works. She loves painting, according to her teacher. She made a Fathers' Day card for Benedict in September with her photo in there. She's not even going to Kindy yet, and her art works are already a big pile.....sigh~~~~~

For me, they just look like she has spilled the paint. But one of her teachers explained it to me how to see her progress from her paintings. It was very amazed to know all these and no wonder they are qualified pre-school teachers. =)

Cooking

My friend told me cooking can be a way to combat stress. On Wednesday morning, I woke up and baked 6 big honey muffins and 12 mini honey muffins. Today, I woke up and made 'char kueh' from scratch oh and it's my first time making it. I didn't tell Benedict what I was making. But when he eats it, he said: Wow, it's char kueh. hheheheh....so it means it doesn't taste too bad. hahahah....

And I roasted a whole chicken in the slow cooker for six hours for dinner. I marinated the whole chicken and dumped it inside the slow cooker. I didn't even add any water and leave it for 6 hours. Then stir fry taugeh. I think my stress is at the peak level now!!!!!!

Surprise Party

This is a surprise party thrown by James on 30th September. Lydia is turning ?? the next day....hehehe......

James and Lydia went to Avondale flea market while we sneaked into their property. Lydia was having a good time shopping as James kept buying this and that. She has no idea those foods are for the steamboat!

We bought an orange cake from Pandoro in Mt Eden. They always bake very nice cakes. I love their chocolate brownies very very much!!! mmm....yummy~~~~

Valerie had a good time too....spending her afternoon with aunties and uncles. She had one fish ball, one meat ball and a reasonable amount of the orange cake. With her contribution, I think James and Lydia need to vacumn the living room on that day. =)
