ASB Xmas Day Out for ASB Staffs

Every year, ASB organised a Family Day out for its staff and families. Each staff wil need to register how many kids they have and will be given a 'pass' for each child. Each pass (the red thing that Val was wearing around her neck) has 5 tokens, i.e for presents, lunch box, chips, ice-cream and a santa hat.

The pass is to ensure only ASB staff's kids got all these. So for us, we have two passes, for Val and Wes. The presents are not the cheap one. Val got a play camera and a toy that splashes water. Wes got a set of beach toys and a toy from fisher price.
They have organised things like bouncing castles and all other inflatable huge toys etc, and also carting, pony riding, photos taking with santa, small farm plus dancing area. The great thing is these are all indoors. No need for sunblock.
Val had such a great time there, whereas Wes was sleeping most of the times. =) Now, she really loves Xmas. =)

Mini Picnic At Home

We know Grace and her family from daycare. She has 2 gorgeous girls named Amanda and Adela. Adela and Valerie used to be in the same centre in the daycare. But now, Adela is in Centre 3 and Valerie is in Centre 4. Amanda has just started school this year.

That day, it was Friday. Valerie took her annual leave (she has 10 days that we need to use up before 15 Jan 09). Adela normally stays at home on Friday as Grace is not working on Friday. So they came and pay us a visit after Grace fetched Amanda from school.
They brought Dunkin Doughnuts, milk etc and the girls decided to have their snacks in our 'messy' garden - a small picnic. Valerie has never done that before. She was very very happy and now, she keeps asking for picnic. sigh~~~~
Valerie is not much an eater. She likes playing more than eating. You would think that she liks doughnuts. She doesn't even look at it. Adela tried to persuade her to eat it. She took one and said: Valerie, look...it's very very yummy.....and then she put it into her mouth and show her 'delicious' look.......After all her hardwork...Valerie said: no....=(
Valerie actually enjoys the company of Amanda and Adela. As most of the time, she's playing alone at home and now with Wesley, she still need to wait for a while before Wes can play with her. Sometimes, really 'sakit hati' when she played alone and talked to herself.

Santa Parade 2008

Santa Parade is one of the biggest event in Auckland. We went there nearly every year. But this year, I chose to stay at home with Wesley. So Benedict brought Val and my in laws to see the parade.

Val was very excited over this. We packed her some snacks, her cap, her sunglasses etc. A lot of people went there early to get a good spot. The parade starts at 2pm.
After she came home, she was very excited and trying to tell me everything that she saw....Bob the Builder, Penguin, Dragons, Lions etc....
Few days ago, when I was looking at these photos....she asked: Mummy, can we go again?
ehhehe......she would have to wait for another year.
Now, all the malls have santas around, for people to take photos etc. Val went few times already and Santa asked for her name and what she wants for Xmas. She has only one response....i.e. staring at Santa's bags of lollies.....She doesn't really care about that Santa, she's more concerned if she's getting the lollies/chocolates!!!!!
Yesterday, while she was watching Barney - Xmas theme.....she turned around and asked me: Mummy, where are our Christmas Decorations????
I was shocked that she can pronounce 'Decorations'!!!!!
Well, bad economy now.....so no extra cash to buy all those unfortunately....hopefully next year would be a better year and have some savings!!!!

Valerie's Daycare Xmas Party

This year, Valerie's daycare held their Xmas Party in Chipmunks Playground. We left Wesley at home with my in laws and went with her. Man.......she was so hyper....she and her friends - Vivana, Belle, Maya etc go onto all the equipments and had so much fun. She is really really happy. So was I!
The teachers organised a Santa and they have wrapped a present (a book)
for each kid to let Santa distributes to each of them. Everyone waited very patiently for their turn. Beside that, they have organised a snack box for each of them too....got sandwich, muffin, chips etc......
Well, after 2 hours being there......Val used up her whole day energy and she had a good sleep that night!!! Yippee!!!!!

Valerie 3 Yrs Old Birthday Party - Daycare

On Valerie's actual birthday, we organised a small party in her daycare. We brought a cake and some nibbles for the kids' afternoon tea.
Val has requested the cake's cartoon to be Mickey Mouse. She purposely reminds me that she wants MICKEY, not MINNIE. See, another boy's character.....sigh~~~~
In the daycare, the birthday boy/girl gets to wear the red hat. Everyone is waiting for their special day to come to wear that hat. She told me about the hat.....The teacher told her she could pick her best friend to sit next to her, and she picked Dwyanne - a boy.
We brought Wesley along as she wants to introduce him to her friends. She is proud to be a big sister.
It's a great day to go there and pamper herself on her birthday. Seeing her big smile on her face really make me very happy!

Valerie 3 Yrs Old Birthday Party - Home

Val turned 3 this year. As usual, we had a bbq at home for her. Time really flies, I still remember when I organised for her one year old birthday party. This year, I didn't bake a cake for her due to the arrival of Wesley. Therefore, I've let her decide what cake she wants.
She somehow likes all boys' stuffs. So she has put her request for Thomas & Friends. =( I thought girl will normally request Barbie or Princess.
That morning, I've tried so hard to tell her to put on a dress. She loves wearing pants and she doesn't like to do her hair. Sigh~~~~Her teachers actually made the comments before that she is like a boy.
Anyway, it's a great party. The cake I ordered is ice-cream cake. Everyone loved it.
Few kids were there and so was Snoopy Sum - Gary & Edith's dog. They somehow managed to teach Val to touch the dog. If you know me, I'm scared of the dogs. So there is no way that I'm touching it. Val was so proud that she touched Snoopy and she came to me and said: Mummy, it's your turn!!!! Of course, these are taught by those aunties and uncles!!!!!!
She received great presents from our friends. Thank them so much for cheering Val on that day and made her feel special. =)

Congratulations!

I would like to congratulate my sister and friends who just have their babies recently. They are:
1. Of course, my sister - Paw Chen (Yippee.....finally, I'm an aunty!!!!) and my nephew
2. Noreen and her baby boy
3. Annabelle and her baby boy
4. Kathy and her baby boy

May God bless them and their families. =)

Wesley's Recent Photos

Here are some recent photos of Wesley. He is doing fine, so is Val. Both of them are coping well with each other...ehhehe......Val always mentions that she loves her baby brother. And her baby brother copes well with all the noises made by Val. Wes starts respond to us, like smiling back at us, giving eyes contact and making noises. It starts to get kinda fun.

After my confinement period, I really miss Aunty Leong (confinement lady - in photo above). I miss my sleeps soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!
Anyway, will try to upload more of his photos in future.

Vivana's Birthday & To The Park

We went to Vivana's 2nd birthday a year ago and time flies, one year passed and now it's her 3 years old party. The party was held in their house in New Lynn, very near to where we used to live.

It was raining very heavily on that day. We drove all the way from East Auckland to West Auckland and we were waiting in the car for the rain to stop. Val was getting so impatient as she saw all the cars coming. Finally, we managed to get ourselves into the house. Due to the rain, they've moved all the hired toys to an empty room. Val and her friend, Charlie (if I'm not wrong) were playing with them......mmm....other kids are kind of more obedient......they didn't come and join them.....

Val saw Vivana's birthday cake....it's a butterfly.....and she told me she wanted Mickey Mouse.......even though, now she has changed it to Thomas The Train. We didn't stay long in the party as at that time, my tummy was super big.....and getting tired easily.....so we left after being there for an hour.

It's spring in NZ now.....and finally, there is one dry weekend. On Saturday, we brought Val to Domain and Mission Bay after finding where the birth care is located. We were thinking just to let her run around and exhausted her.........and in both places, there were ppl giving her some breads to feed the birds. She was so happy. When we went to Mission Bay after Domain, she told me she wanted to buy bread to feed the birds. We found on dairy shop and the bread costs NZD3.80. For goodness sake, I'm not going to pay that to feed the birds!!!!!!

Luckily, one kind lady gave it to her while we were walking along Mission Bay. So that night, we went to Countdown to get a loaf of bread so that we can bring along to the park the next day. She was happily holding the bread and told Benedict: Daddy, this is for birdies, not for you. Don't eat it!!!!!
The next day, we went to Manukau Botanic Garden.....well, there are not many birds there.....lots of ducks instead......but so many ppl feeding the ducks till the ducks are not eating anything. Finally, we found few ducks 'in hunger'......but the place has no barrier and Val looked like throwing herself into the ponds while she's throwing the bread....so I was screaming here and there and told Benedict to keep a close eye on her.

At the end of the day, I can see both of them 'regretted' to bring me along.......making all the noises....ahhahahah....Benedict complaint that I made two of them stress!!!!!! ahhahaha....... Anyway, the most important thing is my little princess is having a great time. =P
