Jenny's Wedding 26/11

Benedict's only sister, Jenny, got married on 26 Nov 2007. All relatives from all over Malaysia and overseas came and joined this special ocassion.

That morning, the first problem that I had was Val refuse to put her gown on. Man, took me more than half an hour to persuade her. Later, the groom, Peter, arrived with a bunch of friends. Jenny and her friends were in her room waiting to 'abuse' Peter. Peter managed to pass all the tests successfully.
It's their customs to give a bow to the elders in the family before they took off to church for the ceremony. The ceremony started at 9. It wasn't a long ceremony, but it's very warmth and sweet. Jenny was very close to Val. She bought her the Barney and always put the Barney's VCDs on for her. However, that day, after Jenny had the make-up on, Val refused to look at her. She even cried in the church.
The wedding reception was held in Mega Hotel, Miri. My mum and my sis flown in that morning from Sabah, where my bro's wife's having their reception the day before in their hometown. Val was crying during the wedding whenever Jenny walked pass. We kept telling her it's the same aunty, but she just refused to recognise that's her Barney's aunty. =D

Miri

The day I arrived, Benedict and my father-in-law went to pick me up from Brunei. We drove to Miri, which took us 1.5 hours. When we arrived home, Val was still awake. She was thrilled to see me. That night, she wanted me to hold her in her sleep, gave me heaps of kissing and she said: love you, mummy! From there, I can sense she missed me soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!

The next day, she wanted me carry her all the time. When I told her I'm leaving, she said: No, mummy! =)
We went shopping, eating and visited beaches in Miri. Grandpa brought her to a beach with a playground. She was so happy. Grandma taught her how to say market in Malay 'Pasar'. Whenever, we ask her, where are we going? She would reply in Malay : Pasar.
She can even pronounce our Prime Minister's name accurately, i.e. 'Badawi'
Her mandarin has been strengthen. She knows how to count 1-10 in English and Mandarin. She even can say a full sentence like : I'll do it myself. The most important is she hasn't forgotten her English!!!!! =)
We were quite pleased with her performance in all the dinners and lunches. She is a bit clingy, but she doesn't run around or demand to go up and down. =)))

Val's Birthday Celebration In Malaysia

Benedict and Val arrived 10 days before me. We are taking Brunei Airlines this time as Benedict's sister is having her wedding on 26th and my brother's wedding is on 29th. Finally, we have time for our holidays after busying with both weddings.

Val celebrated her 2nd birthday in Miri. They bought a mocha cake for her. They saved a piece for me and it's delicious. Grandma cooked 'Mee Suah' for her which represent 'long life' and boiled eggs. I was told she enjoyed her 'candle blowing'. =)

Val's 2 Yrs Old Birthday Party

We had a BBQ at home with only few friends. I made a cake for Val....=)

Early in the morning, I told her today it's her turn that her name to be in "Happy Birthday" song. She was very looking forward. She refused to take a nap, waiting patiently for all the uncles and aunties' arrivals.

Her favourite DiDi, Joe, came and celebrated with her too. He is such a good and handsome boy. He cheered up everyone in the party.

Val had been practicing how to blow the candle on Sunday morning. Well, she did pretty alright. I knew she enjoyed the party very very very much. She likes all the presents that she received, the horse, toys, nice and fashionable clothing and not to mention the sexy swimsuit!

All the uncles and aunties tried very hard to entertain the two little one. =) I'm sure at the end of the day, everyone's too tired of eating and entertaining. eh ehheh.........

My First Cake Decoration

Benedict and I have decided to have a small party for Val before they leave for Malaysia. I was hesitate that if I should make my own cake or buy one. Last Thursday, I managed to find one recipe and had made up my mind to make one. =)

Benedict reckoned it's too risky! But my backup plan is to do it on Saturday night, if failed, will rush and get one from supermarket on Sunday morning. ehhehe.....

Well, I am very pleased with what I've done after taking into account this is my first time decorate the cake. I'm lazy to bake the sponge....so I bought them.....but the fillings and decoration except the bear candle, I made it myself. Muahahahah..........

I took the pictures to prove it's done by me.....Muahahahahaha.......

Elijah's Birthday (Xiao Bao)

After Marie's birthday party, we took off to Xiao Bao's 3 years old birthday party at 4.30pm. Xiao Bao is Val's friend from church. She called him Xiao Bao Ko Ko.

The party was held in a place called My Gym. It's such a great place for kids. They have 2 instructors organising the programmes, and basically one activity in every 15-20 minutes. Have stretch, singing song, story tellings, activities etc......and the most important thing is they really make the birthday boy very special.

Unlike other kids' party organiser, parents tend to get bored. But in this place, basically the parents are involved. I quite enjoyed it and I knew Val had a great time there. That night, she had a such good sleep.

During the birthday cake cutting part, Xiao Bao was placed in an aeroplane facing all his friends, who were in the foyer. Then was carried in front of the cake to blow the candles and ate together with his friends.

All the kids enjoyed it so much. When it's home time, few kids even forgot about their shoes and the parents forgot about them too.....heheheh.....=)

Marie's Birthday

Last Saturday was Marie's Birthday. The party started from 1-3pm.

Marie's mum is my primary school classmates, Cecelia Ung. We managed to bump into each other in Christchurch few years ago and exchanged our contact numbers. Cecelia rang me and told me it's her child's birthday and automatically I assume it's Anselm's birthday, instead of Marie.

So I got a boy's present instead. I felt so bad.......and that taught me a lesson....never assume.....hehehehhe......
Val had a great time there too. She saw all the big sisters and brothers playing games. At the end, she managed to find their 'toys storage' room and stayed in there enjoying herself. Look at her new hair style cut by her personal hairdresser....that's me!!!! =)

Marie is such a lively and gorgeous girl. She is going to be 'popular' in future. Cecelia would have a serious headache in future. =P

Butterflies Creek

Two weeks ago, we went to the Butterflies Creek near airport. It's not a big place. Got quite a few of butterflies in there. With the price that we've paid, I don't think it's worth it. hehehehe.........Val actually prefer to look at the fish in the pond than the butterflies that we've paid the entrance fee for. =)

It has a small farm (with surcharge), a cafe and a playground. We didn't bother to go into the farm as we've been to a far larger farm. The farm is so small that you can have a whole glimpse by the playground. =P
