Chinese New Year 2009

The above photos were taken on 1st day of Chinese New Year at home.
This year, the 1st day of Chinese New Year fell onto a statutory holiday in Auckland. But still, no Chinese New Year’s feeling here at all. =(

We still perform Chinese custom in giving red packets to parents and children. Val was talking to my sis and she talked in such soft voice and said: Ee Ee, there is money in the red packet.

Hehehe……

As usual, when closer or during Chinese New Year, there are a lot of fun / food fairs held. We’ve been to few. But don’t really bother to take any photos.

The photos above were taken at Greenlane showground. Val was wearing the Chinese costume and attracted a lot of ‘ang mo’. Ehhehe…..

And even got ang mo wanted to take her photos. She has another one in yellow colour. Somehow, didn’t manage to take the photos of that. =D

Lydia & James' Wedding in January

We have known James and Lydia for years. Finally, two of them decided to tie the knot. We are so happy for them! =)

The wedding was held in their home. Not a big big wedding. But it’s very warmth, close and sweet. Lydia nearly burst out in tears while reading her vows!!!!!

Val, since the last two weddings we had in Malaysia, is still afraid of bride. She said she doesn’t like Aunty Lydia in white dress. She refused to let her cuddle etc.

Tonight, I actually am going to a ‘Hens Party’ and Val keeps asking where am I going. I told her I am going to a party. She immediately said, I want to go. I told her Aunty Paris will be wearing the white dress. Guess what she said.

Her immediate response is: I like Daddy. I’m going home with Daddy.

Heheheh……

Update - Wesley

Wes was actually in curiousity (or probably shock) when we put him into hammock. Heheheh.....

Guess what he was doing? Watching TV programme. Once my sis rang and asked Val, what is your baby brother doing....Val answered: He's watching TV. =P

My two precious look a bit bored. ehhehe.....

Just couldn't stop loving him and Val, of course...ehhehe....

Water Play At Home

We've got this inflatable swimming pool years ago from Benedict's work place - xmas gift. We have never used it before.
This year, we've decided to let Val play with it. It is such a big pool.......from the photos...we haven't filled up the whole pool......it's only 1/3 filled. And already took us more than an hour to fill that. =P
Val loved it so much and we asked if Adela and Amanda would like to join her. It's always good to see the kids are having fun. Their laughters and their smiles....really make our day. =)

Other Xmas Photos

These photos taken at a house near our place. Every year, they decorated their house and opened to public. =)

Xmas 08

On Xmas day, as per previous years, we went to friends' places for bbq. It's kind of kiwi culture to have bbq for xmas.

The first bbq that we went was on Xmas Day. We didn't take any photos unfortunately. But what I can say it's the food is very very yummy and varieties!
On 27th, we went to Gary & Edith's place for bbq. For this group of friends (whom we know them since universities), we have gathering each month at each person's place by turn. Normally, for xmas, we will be at Edith & Gary's place. =)
This year, Jocelyn and Joe joined our celebration. My in laws and Wesley did not go as my in laws thought to let us have some fun.
Joe and Val had so much fun. Eating chips, sausages, nibbles etc. Both of them tried to get our attention by calling 'mummy'.......Val called, then Joe, then Val again.....that actually went on for a long time....my goodness......
Each person brought a present that worth approximately $20. I bought some lollies and water gun and wrapped them for Val and Joe, so that they had some presents to open while all the aunties and uncles opened their presents. Suporn & Mew, Lydia & James and Sharon got the presents for the kids too. =)
